The Vice-Chancellor emphasized that staff and student welfare remains a priority, citing initiatives like subsidised transportation and accommodation.
Yakasai acknowledged the contributions of the Jigawa State Government and the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) to the university’s growth. He further revealed that twelve disbursements from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) have been made to support students.
He also disclosed plans to establish a College of Medicine, aimed at expanding the university’s academic offerings and contributing to the healthcare sector by producing skilled medical professionals.
While expressing optimism about the institution’s continued growth, Yakasai appealed to the Jigawa State Government for additional support, particularly in the areas of staffing and accommodation, to sustain quality teaching and research.
