The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) has formally admitted 25,517 students into its various academic programmes, with the institution urging the new entrants to remain committed to excellence throughout their studies.
The matriculation ceremony, which was held virtually across the university’s study centres, marked the 30th edition of the event and brought together students from different parts of the country.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor, Uduma Oji Uduma, emphasised the need for students to take responsibility for their academic journey. He noted that the university’s learning structure is designed to empower individuals who are ready to stay disciplined and focused.
According to him, students of the institution are not at a disadvantage but are instead part of a forward-looking system that is gradually redefining education. He explained that the Open and Distance Learning model has gained global relevance and continues to expand access to quality education.
